Copper Alchemy Landscape Paintings

Using copper in art is a powerful way to remind visitors and local residents of Arizona, that our state is famously known as the "Copper State" and copper mining has been a significant part of its history and economy.

Inspired by that I created this art. Using sheets of heavy high grade copper, I gave them a colorful patina by using multiple natural products that had an acid base, and painted, soaked and placed in a sealed chamber to unfold the design you see. No two pieces are alike and each one has its own distinct character.
